Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and for how long.

1. Who is responsible

The controller of the personal data collected on starter.blouppy.com is Jimmy Boinembalome, entrepreneur individuel trading as Blouppy, 3 rue de Patay, 45000 Orléans, France — support@blouppy.com. There is no data protection officer; write to this address for any question about your data.

2. The email list

WhatYour email address, and the date you gave it. A hidden field catches spam robots and stays empty for people.
WhyBefore launch: one email when Blouppy Starter goes on sale, with the launch price. After launch: an email when a new release is out. Nothing else, and never sold or shared for marketing.
Legal basisYour consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)), given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
How it is collectedBy Netlify Forms, a feature of the site's host, which stores the submissions and screens them for spam.
How it is sentFrom our own mailbox at support@blouppy.com, to an export of the list, with every address in blind copy: no other recipient sees yours. No emailing service is used. The mailbox is described under Support messages.
How longUntil you unsubscribe, and at most 3 years after you signed up or last opened one of our emails, whichever is later. Then it is deleted.
UnsubscribeEvery email we send says how: reply “unsubscribe”, or write to support@blouppy.com. Your address is deleted, not just flagged.

3. Purchases

Licences are sold by Polar Software, Inc. as reseller and merchant of record. Polar collects and processes the payment data (card, billing address, tax details) as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details.

To deliver and support your licence, we receive from Polar, and from GitHub when you connect your account: your name or company name, email address, country, order details and GitHub username.

4. Support messages

When you write to support@blouppy.com or post in the repository's Issues and Discussions, we process your message and the contact details it contains to answer you (legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f), or the contract if you are a customer). Emails are kept 3 years after the last exchange. Posts on the repository are visible to the other licensees who have access to it and stay there until you delete them, or ask us to. The address support@blouppy.com is a redirection run by OVHcloud, which forwards messages to a mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail); the emails to the list are sent from that same mailbox.

5. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (see the Legal Notice). As with any website, Netlify's servers process technical data of each visit — IP address, browser, requested page, date — to deliver the pages and protect the service (legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f)). We do not use these logs to follow anyone. Netlify keeps them for the period set in its own policy. [TO FILL: Netlify's log retention period, from Netlify's privacy policy]

6. Cookies and trackers

The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It has no analytics, no advertising, no social media plugins and no tracking pixel. The fonts, images and scripts all come from the site itself: no request is made to a third party while you browse. Polar's checkout, once you leave this site for it, has its own cookie policy.

7. Who receives the data

None of them may use your data for their own marketing on our behalf, and we sell no data.

8. Transfers outside the EU

Netlify, Polar, GitHub and Google are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. These transfers rely on the safeguards these providers put in place: the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where they are certified, or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. [TO FILL: confirm the safeguard each provider uses]

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR and French law, you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, withdraw your consent at any time, and give instructions about what happens to your data after your death.

Write to support@blouppy.com. We answer within one month. We may ask you to prove who you are if there is a reasonable doubt.

If you think your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France — www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

10. Changes

We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the address you gave us, we will tell you by email first.
